5 track days in 3 days

With five track events in three days the last few days have been our busiest this year!

From leaving home at 6am on Thursday morning to go to Donington Park we were both expecting a total wash out as the forecasters had predicted. However, with the exception of a short shower at 3pm both the day and evening events were dry and sunny. As with all our Donington weekday events the cars were extremely popular with both a corporate group and individual hires taking place. The day event went well with only a few short stoppages, meaning that lots of quality track time was on offer. For the evening a number of Italian drivers attended who were competing in the Superstars race meeting being held over the weekend. Some of these drivers took advantage of the ARDS instruction on offer in order to learn the circuit.

After the evening session had finished I set off on the long journey to Anglesey, leaving Jonny at Donington to run a morning session on Friday for our friends at the Caterham Graduate Race Club. Following three hours on the road I arrived at one of our favourite Anglesey holiday cottages - Penryhn Halen.

Unfortunately the next morning the weather forecasters were correct with wind and rain hitting the circuit. The track day was being run for NORLOG members with BaT member Andy Booth (boothy) having worked hard to get 55 Lotus owners to the event. Despite the weather an excellent day was had by all, with many drivers enjoying the challenge of driving a wet circuit. Our ARDS instructors lead by Stuart Jones worked hard throughout the day to make sure all participants were comfortable with the conditions.

Saturday's track day saw the return of both the sunshine and Jonny! This was the Anglesey event on the PistonHeads calendar, with a full house of 60 cars in attendance. The track day was also the event BaT regular Rich McCann chose for his stag party, hiring two of our Caterham Superlights. The day went extremely well with only a few minor stoppages and not a drop of rain!
