Whilst on a recent trip to Lisbon, Sarah and I thought it would be rude not to pop into Estoril circuit and take a look! Located just 30km from Lisbon city centre the circuit is an easy motorway drive from the airport.

Thanks to the very helpful Marketing Director at the circuit we were given a guided tour of the circuit and facilities. Although we only observed the circuit from the access roads around it we were able to see the fast yet twisty layout and the surprising amount of elevation. As an F1 test venue the circuit benefits from large garages, good access and facilities. From our short visit it certainly looks like the ideal starting point for our trip.

Also during our trip we decided to visit the beautiful seaside town of Cascais which is only 7km from the circuit. The town has a beautiful harbour, cobbled streets with many restaurants and tourist attractions. It is also home to a number of beaches along its vast front. Whilst in Cascais we stopped at the 5 star Hotel Cascais Miragem which will be the first of our hotels on the trip. Just a short walk from the town in one direction and the Estoril Casino in the other, this beautiful hotel offers luxurious rooms overlooking the sea, spa facilities and a selection of dining options. Having arranged a dinner for the first night of the trip we thought it was only right to sample to food on offer and the quality and selection was magnificent.
