I really don't know which weather God BaT customers worship - but please carry on doing so! The unseasonable warm weather that we were enjoying here in the UK had travelled across the Channel, making our fourth dry, sunny Spa trip on the trot. It was so warm that poor Leanne working on pit lane sun burnt her face.





The March weekend event has grown over the past few years to rival our Summer trip with the numbers who attend. The trip also has the most beautiful paddock with a wide range of track day exotica in attendance. It also has to be our most international client base with customers from nearly every continent – quite a challenge for Jonny’s multi-lingual briefings.





Again our arrive and drive CaterhamÂ’s were extremely busy with all cars being sold out before the end of last year. The event also saw two of our new addition R300Â’s freshly built from the workshop. The R300 continues to be a popular choice with car hirers and Spa Francorchamps suits the car perfectly with its mix of fast corners and massive elevation. With nine cars out on hire our car hire team (Doug, Harry and Garrick) worked tirelessly over the weekend, being the last people to finish every night.





Overall the weekend was a tremendous success and it is so rewarding to see so many smiling facing at the sign-on garage. Sarah ‘Spike’ Reader did a fantastic job monitoring driving standards as chief instructor and I began to pity anybody who was facing a telling off from her! This important job means that drivers can be assured that driving standards are maintained and rules enforced. With only a few stoppages over the course of the weekend it meant that track time was virtually uninterrupted.





Our only drama over the weekend was the sad news that Sandra Gilbert was unable to join us to help with drinks and lunch. However, with a lot of help from other staff and customers we were again able to provide food and drink all day to customers and staff.





Following another excellent weekend we turn our attentions to the other Spa trips in July and November. For July spaces are going very quickly and in November we have an early booking discount available.








KC Cico at 'La Source' in a new McLaren, the classic 'Eau Rouge' shot with a Ferrari 458 Challenge and Troy Brisby and Andrew Richmond in our arrive and drive Caterhams that they had travelled all the way from Australia to drive!
