After a few wet April track days we were delighted that summer had finally arrived for our only trip to Brands Hatch this year. Our annual GP circuit track day followed by Indy Circuit evening session took place on Wednesday with only a short shower interrupting the warm and sunny day.

Due to planning restrictions at the circuit, events on the full GP layout are limited. With a share of these going to race meetings only a handful of car track days take place every year. This makes our GP circuit event extremely popular and this year was no exception with places being sold out several weeks in advance. We had limited the numbers in attendance to 66 to ensure that all drivers would get quality track time with no pit lane queues. Again this formula worked extremely well with plenty of track time available.

As you'd expect with a premium day there was an eclectic mix of cars in the paddock. These included marques such as Porsche, Radical, Caterham and Lotus, all of which savoured the awesome driving challenge that is the GP circuit. Thanks to a firm briefing by Jonny in the morning the day passed with only a few stoppages quickly cleared by the fantastic Brands Hatch marshals and recovery staff. By 5pm when the chequered flag went out it was fantastic to see so many smiling faces.

After a short break for the marshals and the moving of track barriers, our evening on the Indy circuit started at 5.30pm. Although the circuit doesn't take in the fast back part of the circuit, the Indy circuit is still popular and includes the combination of Paddock Hill, Druids and Graham Hill - brilliant in any car! This event had also been fully booked for a few weeks; the Evening Session format proving popular at Brands Hatch like it is at Donington Park..

In similar fashion to the day the Evening event passed with only a few short stoppages. By 9pm the slightly tired BaT team were all packed up and setting off on the long journey home, satisfied that our annual trip to Brands Hatch had been a success.
