| A great car to drive on track, especially on a dry day using Toyo R888's tyres. Grip is huge and acceleration up to about 100mph awesome and will see of most other cars on the average trackday (if there is such a thing). The handling is easy to master as when the car does start to slide it is easy to recover, at least this is the case with a mild fast road/occasional track use setup - eg quite soft. So it seems a good review so far - why only 3 stars? Several reasons but the main one being unreliability and the constant need for maintenance. My car was newly built and needed a new clutch master cylinder (engine out job) after just 1200 miles and one trackday. The throttle cable stretched giving only 75% maximum throttle and the brake light switches failed. Hardly catastrophic but all added up to a lot of problems in a very short time. The car is really best used for track only and is too extreme for the road on anything other than the perfect summers day (few and far between). West weather grip is poor, especially on the R888's which never get warm. Braking in the wet is also a big issue, which means you spend a lot of time thinking carefully about your on road driving! Sadly having wanted to own one of these cars for years it's the first one I regret buying and I got rid of it after 11 months and 2000 miles! In summary - a great cars to drive on a sunny trackday but you are, in my opinion, better off hiring a BatCat for trackdays and letting someone else look after the maintenance (unless you enjoy that sort of thing!).
