Ive been running a mk3(bubble) 200 with T16 engines in various specs for years and they are incredible cars for serious track work and then doing the work/family run come monday. The stock engine is good for 220bhp with 100% reliability, throw in forged pistons and they will run much more quite happily. In a 1000kg car the base 220bhp gives decent performance but the chassis feels underwhelmed and track work is a simple case of point it at apexes and floor it early. Itll lap fast with little effort but doesnt take much involvment. Throw 250-300bhp at it and it comes alive with much higher entry speeds and the ability to play with the throttle more. It has a smidge of understeer on turn in, but is easily countered with instant lift off adjustability or bags of power on steer. They are also very easy to work on backed up by the peice of cake 2.0 turbo conversion. For a cheap track/road/sprint car id have nothing else. Rating: [ More Opinions ] Posted by: Jason Davis |
