Mazda MX-5 1.8is
Standard mk 2 1.8is. I wanted to like it, but it's not my cup of tea really. Whenever I've driven it on the road it's seemed a bit wobbly and lardy to me, took it to Donington in the wet and ice and didn't enjoy it much. I can see it would be more fun chucking it around in the dry at somewhere like Anglesey, and it could make quite a good track tool if it was lowered and stiffened a bit. As it was I just spent the day lurching round very slowly. This particular car had been bent and repaired and was running on rubbish tyres, so maybe it's not a fair comparison.
