A nice track, craner curves take some bottle to drive flat out and are the highlight of this circuit.

IF DONNINGTON WAS AND ANIMAL IT WOULD BE A BALCK AND BLUE SPOTTED MONGOOSE: FLOWING, SLIGHTLY OVERATED AND POPULATED BY MUPPETS.

National circuit: Great track with plenty of run off, plus Donington run their own trackdays which are very reasonable.

Awesome circuit. Perfectly suited to our baby peugeot. Good surface with plenty of flowing corners and a straight where uprated brakes will really so there benefits. If you havent done Donnington, your missing out big time

Lovely track. Much shorter than I thought. Interesting corners, need practise to learn. Since resurface has been done the tarmac in the dry is very progressive and easy to control the car on. A bit greasy in the wet.

Very good fun, just enough straight stuff to test the car, but also enough twistys to test the driver. Craner Curves are just fantastic ;) Especially when chasing an Impreza.

If its hot and the GP circuit, you'll eat your brakes. Short circuit flows much better and is less annoying.

A Great circuit, but not as good as Cadwell! Goontastic in the wet though! And the Craner Curves (kind of Eau Rouge in reverse and a little watered down!) are fab and it's always a challenge trying to get through them at over 105mph!! Old hairpin is great as a finisher to the Craners set of corners too. Rest of the circuit is very good and Macleans is faster than you think and Coppice can often spell trouble if you go in to deep. Have even managed a 720 through the Craners!

A superb fast circuit with probably the most famous ballsy corner there is. But we'll not go into that right now...

Very enjoyable track, with a bit of everything. Overall it is a little more technical than I expected (I though it would be like Goodwood) with a lot of corners than you need to get just right, or you run wide and have to back off at the wrong moment. Craners and the old Hairpin are superb. I prefer the National circuit to the fairly pointless GP loop, mainly as I love the chicane on the National... possibly my fave circuit, good facilities too, and I love racing here.

I love Donington - and had a wonderful evening on the 20th August with one exception - the GP section of the circuit is terrible, just a nasty, very artificial hairpin then a silly 180 degree bend - the rest of the circuit flows so well that this is a nonsense in comparison. My advice - stick to the National circuit. Doesn't help having a heavy car !

My second favorite circuit in the UK after Cadwell. In a great handling car like the Formula Renault the Craner Curves are superb fun, it is genuinely flat out all the way through just keep you foot flat all the way from the apex (when I find it Tony!) of redgate and keep changing up - the difficult bit is getting the braking for the old hairpin right. When you get this right try gooseneck to the mountain at cadwell - awesome! The Renault lacks straight line speed to really test this circuit

My first visit to Donington. Having heard, seen and read about the Craner Curves I was interested (read wetting myself!) as to what they would be like. The reality exceeded all expectation; gradually building up speed through the day they are (as is the rest of the track) breathtaking. This is surely one of the best tracks in England, with the blind approach to Coppice Corner making choosing your braking point quite challenging. The track really does flow, and is extremely fast. The only minus was that I stayed in the Field Head Hotel; suffice to say that next time I'll stay at the Airport Travelodge !

A fantastic circuit. A couple of places where you can impress/scare yourself by going flat out where you never thought you could (Craner Curvess and from the exit of Old Hairpin up to McLeans). However, being next door to East Midlands Airport doesn't help. In the wet, all the Av Gas they drop on the circuit turns it into a bit of an ice rink.

A great circuit which is made better by craner which has to be one of the most toptastic fast big balls corners in the uk. love more if they moved it south . National circuit better than GP with out the need to go roun the poxy loop.

This track was my first experience of racing (apart from karting). Was in a race prepared porka!had an excellent time was under tution and learnt loads of valuable lessons there taking the correct lines, slow in fast out, balance the car, but unfortunatley got over confident and spun at 2nd corner after start/finish straight.A mate had a stopwatch timing the afternoon sessions and I got a bit carried away! Conditions where wet and cold (november) and we still enjoyed it cant wait to have a go again in the summer!!!!!!! Donnington proved to be an enjoyable dry track. Long straights, technical corners and changes in elevation made this a track that rewarded the courageous. With expert tuition from Tony (1-2-1instruction.com) I was encouraged to find the limit of my car with resultant smiles all around. Excellent!

National Circuit. First time on a proper race track. I will admit to being apprehensive. However after a few laps of finding my way round i discovered that the entire circuit just flows. First time I got Redgate corner right (Turn in late) I was surprised at the speed i went through Hollywood. Which meant that Craner Curves was flat in forth. So much so that I had to recalibrate my braking point for the old hairpin. All in all an excelent circuit with plenty of overtaking places. It doesn't seem to rely too much on outright power, as you carry the momentum from one corner to the next. It also means when you mess up one corner you are paying for it halfway round the circuit. However get instruction and the whole world seems to be a mucch rosier place. Next stop Brands Hatch.

National circuit is fantastic! Flowing with a good variety of corners and very difficult to master (McLean's and Coppice in particular). Craner Curves to the Old Hairpin is the best set of corners I have ever driven. Requires real commitment to be fast but is very rewarding. Good trackside facilities and plenty of run off. Nearest Optimax is 5 miles away at Shardlow services on the A50

Got round to attending a Donnington session last week after being sure that an event like Donnington was too big for an Elise. How wrong I was, excellent track with a great combination of corners. Getting instruction from Hyla Breeze made the afternoon session faster and more enjoyable. If youre holding back from attending a track day at Donnie, just book it and go, I can assure you that you will have the time of your life!

On a damp November morning the grip was really poor, especially through the Old hairpin. Things improved through the day and it really is a super layout. My road biased westfield struggled a bit, with the long corners and heavy breaking causing a lot of oil surge (sorry about the smoke screen out of the chicane lads). Brillaint to drive a circuit with some gradient and a major step up in quality from the airfields. However, not as much space as the airfields when it goes wrong!

The 26th Nov 2001 - Had a brilliant day at Donnington Park. It was our first time on a trackday and won't be the last. The instruction session with Hyla Breese was first class and highly recommended. My only criticism was the behaviour of some of the Catheram drivers and single seater drivers who did not stick to the rules of just passing on the straights and with the permission of the driver about to be passed. Other than that a great day and totally recommended.

The best thing I ever did was to finally get my car on track at Donington. I'd always liked watching racing there and dreamed about belting through the Craner Curves. Now that I've done it, my life is complete..... not strictly true actually. I now want to go back there and have another go and also have a go at some of the other tracks to see how they compare. If you're thinking about going to Donington, just do it - you won't regret it.

Top circuit - Craner Curves flat out is fantastic !! The track has a good selection of technical and fast corners and a couple of nice straights to get the boot down. It can be a bit hard on brakes - especially at the end of the Dunlop Straight ! Best corner for me was the double apex(Mcleans ?) - get that right and the car is perfectly set up for the straight.

Donington Park GP is one of the most invloving and techincal circuits available in England. This track not only offers exceptional racing experience, it is also an extremely forgiving track with intelligent gravel traps. SO you would almost be sure to go home smiling. Outright lap time belongs to Senna set in 1993.

A really satisfying circuit to drive on - Donington is very wide and smooth with plenty of run off (in most places!). The best corner is undoubtedly Craner Curves where you will find out just how brave you are! The only downside is that, due to being directly under one of the flight paths for East Midlands airport, it gets very slippery when wet.
