Joking aside, its deceptivly simple - but more so this makes it great for perfecting a lap in a single first visit to the circuit.
Its unfair to criticise it for being so short, in many ways its my first choice for getting up some confidence in a new car or if being away from trackdays for a while. | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | Tom Bird | | Mk 2 Golf GTi, Caternail | 21:51 Sun 12 Nov 06 | Not amazing, but it's definitely worth a visit and there are a couple of great bends. Not much run off in some places where you could really do with it. | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | Peter Hawkins | | Lotus Elise | 21:42 Mon 27 Feb 06 | Fun yet short circuit. Gerrads quite a challenge. I haven't mastered it yet. Will go again .. on a warmer day ..

Was great fun the my 153 bhp Racing Puma. | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | Andrew Wilde | | TVR Chimaera | 18:24 Thu 11 Nov 04 | Great fun but simple to learn. Gerrards is fast and fun but watch for that dip after Devils Elbow!! | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | Tim Luke | | Integra | 17:07 Thu 11 Dec 03 | It was a v wet day for my 1st Trackday event. Havent got much to compare it to yet but it was loads of fun. Quiet a simple track but good to get a feel for pushing your car on the limits and beyond. Even though theres only 3 corners still challenging enough to find the right lines & braking points and good to see how fast you can actually go in the wet | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | Richard Ives | | Astra Coupe 2.0L Turbo | 16:21 Tue 7 Oct 03 | Very tight circuit for big heavy cars like mine, but immense fun. The chicane has spoilt a VERY fast part of the track but managed to keep my foot planted into teh carpet for most of the lap. Must do this track again. | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | James Wyatt | | Caterham Academy | 16:50 Fri 5 Sep 03 | Short, simple (then again it is being changed as I write this). Basically a massive, long, fast corner, a quick chicane, and a mega-tight hairpin. Quite a laugh and excellent spectating but not a classic - worth the trip though... | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | Jason Holliday | | Lotus Elise | 13:27 Mon 21 Apr 03 | Quick circuit that requires very little in the way of brake useage
Not at all technically demanding, but limited amounts of run off all round.
A good introduction for trackday novices | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | James Hall | | TVR Cerbera 4.5. | 12:17 Sat 11 Jan 03 | Gerards is quite rewarding when you get it right, because it's so long. If you get the entry wrong, you're history, so the challenge is to take as much speed in as possible, without meeting the scenery at the exit. However, once you can do that, you may as well go home. | | Author | Rating | Driven With | Save Date | | Darryl Beckwith | | FF1600 / Locost/ ESC formula 750 | 22:08 Thu 7 Nov 02 | not a bad track really. Surprisingly it's a track that you need good power for, as you are more or less flat out from the exit of the hairpin to the entry.
Gerrards favours the brave and punishes the reckless. If you go in too fast you will run onto the grass on the exit. If it's raining you will turn right and go back across the track infront of oncoming traffic. So it is a good idea to build up to a fast entry. As for the Esses if you clip the first apex with your front wheel you should be just about set up for the rest. You can use both curbs but be careful in the wet, as water collects in a dip mid corner. The hairpin is straight forward. Devil is flat in a good handling car, but again if it is wet, it is lethal as, if you spin no one can see you as it is a blind turn in. It is a fun track now I think about it. See you all there |

Opinions Lotus Elise Sport 135The perfect sports car. Rides amazingly well on the road and is almost as agile as a Caterfield on track.
The standard Elise can sometimes feel a bit down on power, but the 135 with its C/R gearbox and mildly uprated engine is just perfect. Rating: [ More Opinions ] Posted by: John Arnold
Opinions Donington ParkVery good fun, just enough straight stuff to test the car, but also enough twistys to test the driver. Craner Curves are just fantastic ;) Especially when chasing an Impreza. Rating: [ More Opinions ] Posted by: Robert Clark
Opinions Caterham 7 SupersportHardly reliable but everything is forgiven everytime you sit behind the wheel.
Eats everything on track only to be surpased by another better spec'd 7 ! Rating: [ More Opinions ] Posted by: Andy Turnbull
