BaT Instructors

At BookaTrack.com Ltd - we use only the best ARDS instructors available. Over the years we have formed a core of instructors who cover all of our track days between them, ensuring consistency of quality and continuity for our regular customers.

A basic 20 minute session can be booked via the track day booking form and for just £25 this offers a quick fix for anyone new to track days, new to a particular circuit or just wanting a refresher. In this 20 minutes our instructors will undoubtedly relay plenty of useful information to you but it can often be a lot to absorb - so many of our clients choose to take 2 sessions (one AM and one PM) to maximise the benefit.

Anyone more serious about improving their driving should consider a more structured approach to coaching. Everyone can benefit from tuition - even the F1 drivers have personal coaches - and working with the same instructor time and time again can massively increase confidence, consistency and of course, speed.

If you want more information about either exclusive use of one of our instructors, or shared use with a friend, please contact us for a price and availability.

Christian is great.
Stuart Jones

Stuart is the best person in the world.
Paul Lind

Paul began racing in 1990 when he competed in the Uipart Metro Club Challenge in which he raced for over three 3 years. He then enjoyed two seasons in the Dunlop Rover Turbo Cup in 1994 and 1995. Paul has also taken part in rallying and motorbike racing. During this period Paul won several races and achieved many lap records.

In 1999 Paul began instructing and is a grade A ARDS license holder. He has represented manufacturers throughout Europe and USA, helping them develop and launch new products. Paul also has a great deal of experience with both the gift experience and track day market. He enjoys helping drivers get a better understanding of car control and improving their track driving.

Most of Paul's spare time is taken up with his young family. He also enjoys watching any type of motorsport, powerboat racing, DIY and riding his motorbikes.
Rachel Green

Rachel first started racing in 2000 and since then has raced in various cars including the European GT3 Dodge Viper and British GT Lamborghini Gallardo. Rachel has also entered a couple of quite different cars in Endurance races - one being the Mazda RX-8 as a works driver at Silverstone, the other being a Bicknell (Sports Prototype). However, the main focus of Rachels career has been Caterham Racing, where she has won 1 championship, been championship runner-up and scored numerous wins, podiums and fastest laps ranging from the Academy and SuperGraduates in her early days through to the current C400 Superlight Champtionship.

Rachels preferred car of choice for tutoring is of course the Caterham Seven - where she feels most at home. That said, she's more than happy in any sports/saloon car as well and has a excellent understanding of the handling differences between the two types of cars.

Rachels current modes of transport include a road-going version of her C400 race car (a Superlight R400) and a Renault Clio Trophy. When she's not at a race circuit her hobbies include Ski-ing, kick-boxing, sleeping and chocolate. She loves her dogs almost as much as her trophies and her pet hate is the misuse of apostrophes - Rachels day-job is production editor for the Financial Times!
Sarah Reader

Sarah began racing in 2000 when she competed in the Caterham Academy. After this she progressed through the Caterham Motorsport ladder racing in Super Graduate, Roadsport, Eurocup and Cosworth Masters Championships. Throughout her Caterham racing Sarah achieved a number of podiums and an overall 3rd place in the 2006 Cosworth Caterham Masters. In 2008 Sarah entered the VdeV UK Championship and was joint winner achieving 3 podiums throughout the course of the season. For 2009 Sarah will be competing in UK Speed Sports Championship in a Juno.

Her instructing career began in 2003 and she holds an ARDS grade B license. Sarah has worked for a number of manufacturers in UK and Europe including Mazda, BMW and Mercedes Benz. She also works for Caterham cars on a regular basis as well as having a number of private race clients who compete in Caterham racing. Sarah has also worked at most UK and many European Circuits with track day drivers.

Sarah has no preference on what type of car she instructs in, but is often recognised as a Caterham specialist. Her favourite circuits are Spa, Zandvoort and Monza as they are a huge challenge and great drivers circuits.

In her spare time Sarah enjoys racing, clay pigeon shooting and travelling. She also has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Business Information Technology.
Jon-Paul Ivey

Jon-Paul (JP) started racing in 1993 after attending a Jim Russell course at Donington Park, in a racing Modified MG Midget. During this time he had a great amount of success with many wins and class wins. In 2003 he decided it was time for a change and bought a Radical Clubsport, which he raced in until 2006. After this he bought a Prosport which he has loved racing and had his first race win with in 2007. JP has also raced a replica D type Jaguar, MG ZR during his racing career.

JP has held his ARDS Grade A licence for over eight years and has worked at most of the UK circuit including Silverstone, Donington Park and Rockingham. He has also had a great deal of experience working for manufacturers and on corporate and gift experience events.

When it comes to instructing JP prefers sports and saloon cars, but is more than happy in Caterhams. His favourtite circuits are Donington Park, Croft and Silverstone GP where he especially enjoys Bridge and Priory corners.

In his spare time JP enjoys listening to dance music and enjoying the odd dance when ‘he’s drunk enough’. He also enjoys watching motor racing on TV and socialising with friends. His main hobby though is racing with which he says he has a ‘love hate relationship with’.
Danny Buxton

Danny began racing in 1996 in the Ford XR2 challenge, winning the Championship in 1997. After winning the TOCA Ford Fiesta Championship in 1999, he moved onto the inaugural Clio Cup Championship in 2000, finishing second - but going on to win the title in 2001.

After impressing in testing, Danny was invited by Team Halfords to drive in the prestigious British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). He won the Independant Class twice, at Donington Park and Oulton Park respectively.

As a full time ARDS instructor since 2001 Danny has worked at all major UK racing circuits and has represented manufacturers throughout Europe and in America. Danny is happy instructing in any make of car. He simply enjoys how rewarding it feels when track day drivers show real progression from receiving ARDS instruction.

Danny’s favourite circuits include Spa, Brands GP and Oulton Park, which he describes as ‘real drivers circuits’. He also enjoys the technical nature of Rockingham.

In his spare time Danny enjoys running, squash and football. He also loves to watch F1 and other motorsports on television
David Da Costa

David is a Grade 'A' ARDS instructor with many *many* many years instructing and racing experience. David was racing back in the days when motor racing was dangerous but sex was safe.. In the past he's helped a few drivers who have gone on to do very well such as Ari Vatanen, Bruno Senna and Marko Asmer to name a few. As well as winning a major British Saloon Car Championship, David has held lap records in both Britain and Europe. He's also a class winner in the European Touring Cars when he raced for Ford.

Davids proudest acheivement is that he's never hit anyone on a circuit accidentally - read into that what you will!

One of Davids most redeeming features is his desire to pass on his experience without being 'superior' or condescending. His favourite circuit is Mallory Park ('because of Gerrards') and least favourite (the word he used was 'scary') is the old road circuit at Brno in Czechoslovakia.

Favourite bands are Iron Butterfly and Its A Beautiful Day. An ex rugby player, David used to scout for Bath rugby and count several international players as friends. David was also a boxing champ as a child and his elder brother was English schools boxing champ and world grand masters judo champ.

He's married to June and has 3 children. His least credible incident is the time he got told off by an RAC steward for mooning on lap of honour at Brands Hatch. I think this tells you enough about this particular old timer!
