WET GRIP FACILITY
at Rockingham Motor Speedway
Driver Training

The new wet-grip facility at Rockingham Motor Speedway offers an excellent opportunity for drivers of high-performance vehicles to learn more about themselves and their car in a safe and controlled environment. The low-grip surfaces ensure tyre and suspension wear are kept to a minimum while ensuring massive gains in skid control.

Uses for the Wet Grip Facility

  • Elk Test - High speed change of lanes for driving direction
  • ESP Control / Demonstration - Traction control demonstration
  • Tyre Water Dispersion - Demonstrate the tread on the tyre
  • Braking Systems (ABS) - Demonstrations with braking systems on and off
  • Aquaplaning - Control of a vehicle when there is no surface grip
  • Skid Control - Ability to control over steer and under steer

    What's Included?

Bookings for the wet-grip facility are made in half-hour slots. During each 30 minute session you can expect to get between 20-30 runs on the low-grip crescent and a further half dozen runs through the kick-plate and water chicanes.

    Other Information

  • Helmets are not required - maximum speed is 30-40mph
  • Instruction is highly recommended but not mandatory
  • Tyre wear is minimal due to constant water supply and low-grip tarmac
