| This is an excellent airfield venue especially for the novice. Loads of room, nice flat tarmac/concrete surface and a reasonable lap length makes for good uncrowded sessions. The layout is basically a narrow oval with cones on one of the long straights to provide some extra corners for interest. The long sweeping 180 degree bends at each end of the oval can be quite entertaining as the surface change from concrete to tarmac or vice versa as you move from runway to taxiway offers differing levels of grip. There's also usually a "hooligan" area set aside away from the main track where you can go and have a play. On the downside, unless you are going to be incredibly desciplined and sensible or it is wet, budget for a new set of tyres. There are no toilets by the track, but plenty of bushes (though they can be a bit prickly and just when you think you're hidden away you realise there are people in the offices). The nearest petrol station is 6 miles away so fill up before you arrive. And if you ARE driving madly enough that you start parting company with the black stuff and heading towards the grass, be aware that the runway lights are the size of large dinner plates and they are set up out of the ground at about axel height.
