Anglesey Circuit
Circuits don't get much better than this for elise or seven drivers, easy to learn and a great circuit for beginners. However it is actually a highly technical circuit that means you can return time after time and find extra speed. Lots of run off and beautiful views on a clear day. School corner : one of the last great fast sweepers, it is possible to carry immense speed through this the first corner after the straight, I just haven't quite got the confidence to do it yet. That might have something to do with the fact that it looks like you are going to drive right over a cliff and into the sea. Theories abound about whether you take it wide treat it as a double apex, or go in tight and slightly slower but be able to get on the ower sooner, I prefer the latter, it does depend a lot on the car that one. Radar : fantastic corner that rewards those that like to feel the car sliding. Aim for the marshall on the left as you go in, smoothly take off the lock as you go up the hill, small dab on the brakes to load up the front suspension as you start the turn to the right, this will aid turn in and also unbalance the rear if you want - to slide the car slightly before applying full power for the straight before the hairpin. Thats the theory anyway Hairpin : if you can guarantee one thing about Angelesey its that everyone will complain about understeer at the hairpin. Stay to the left of the track and turn in deep into the hairpin where you see a surface change (it looks like a bit of old road driving staight on into the distance), slow in fast out is the only way, take a late apex - most people go in too early and then struggle with understeer and cannot put the power down until they are well up the straight into Mountfield. By taking the late apex you can get the power down early and let the car drift over to the left where there is alot of (unused) curb. Mountfield : after the hair pin - take the car over to the right of the track, you don't need to brake for the first left. Balance the car around the following right, taking as much curb as the car or you will dare to straight line the exit for the straight. I love it!!
