You need to be precise and on the limit through very fast corners (Madgwick and Fordwater) to get a fast lap, and then you have to deal with technical corners like St Marys (complete with off-camber entry) and Lavant (great for power-sliding). Despite its reputation as a classic unspoilt circuit it has pretty good safety - decent gravel traps and fair run-off on most corners - I can think of worse places to have a "moment". Tyre wear is minimal and the surface is good although changeable (part of the character of the circuit is the uneveness in some places and it actually adds to the fun). Good facilities with toilets and snackbars close to the pit area. Spectator cover also available if it rains. A circuit best suited to cars with excess power - my MR2 was absolutely flat out at the end of the straights, and it isn't twisty enough for cars with better chassis to keep up with more powerful machinery. A circuit I will visit again and again - I just love the atmosphere and the challenge...
