VTEC effecitively gives you two engines - a standard 4 pot 2 litre and a race tuned 4 pot 2 litre.
However - as others have alluded to its chassis is not really properly sorted. There is some definite bumpsteer and the front and what I think is roll steer at the rear - which is why the car is described by some as twitchy. This undermined confidence initially, but the grip levels are quite high and it can be played with once you have the confidence.
Only one Q remains - what is the best way to get the sublime engine into a 300kg or so track vehicle? | | 22:02 Sat 16 Jul 05 | | Robert King | Awesome car! It is a proper front engined, RWD sports car with no traction control to spoil the fun. The close ratio 6 speed gearbox is a joy to change, the shift is precise and requires very little movement from the stick. Push the starter button and the engine roars to life, the engine and exhaust note sound great and the engine revs freely to 9,000 rpm :o) You do have to keep the it wound up to get the full benefit from the VTEC's 236bhp but the car feels superb to drive when driven hard on track, the steering is very precise through the lovely small wheel. This is a drivers car and is not as forgiving or as spacious as the MG ZF or the MX5, but is 100 times more fun! | | 12:24 Thu 2 May 02 | | Kevin Knowles | Just brought one so I must like them.
Engine revs to 9000 rpm and sounds like an F1 car.... Nuff said.

On the track it's much more enjoyable than my Impreza but the Impreza is the faster real world A-B motorcar! | | 00:30 Thu 3 Jan 02 |
