Just purchased some AVS's they seem to be ok so far but will need to scrub them in. Nice tread pattern and feel more stable than my old 510's Will give update after a few weeks.

Great in the dry, on a smooth road, and quite quiet. Useless in wet/damp/greasy conditions.

Have jsut fitted these in 195/50/15 size to my Mk1 and they seem very gripy on the road, grip from standing start is also very good, even with a uprated clutch you have to be heavy on the clutch to wheel spin them.

I bought these quite cheap at Silverstone's annual Trax event for £180 for 4 195/45/15. Yokohamas are known to be pretty good in the dry and dubious in the wet and these almost fall into that category. On a dry day, when they have warmed up a bit, they give very good grip. In the wet they are average though, but better than Yokohama's other offerings. Every tyre pales to average in the wet comparing to an Goodyear F1 or Bridgestone S0-2!! Another thing to note is that they give a delay in steering response which is very noticeable on the motorway at speed - your turn and the car turns a few seconds later kind of thing (probably an exaggeration!!). They are a very unusual and sporty looking tyre though!

I highly rate this tyre having used numerous tyres on road and track. I can strongly recommended this tyre! Previous Yoko's have been excellent tyres in dry, but no good in the wet i.e. A520, A539. The AVS is an excellent all rounder superb dry traction even on my 4wd 290+bhp Pulsar and Wet traction is also brilliant! They disperse of water with ease, and provide little or no wheel spin at full pealt. Also you can pick them up cheap £65 for 205 40 17's each. The wear rate is also good as they are not as soft as previous yoko's.
